1. PEAK EXPERIENCES

Have you ever had a peak experience? Read honest, life-altering accounts under our category, Peak Experiences.

The term was coined by one of the founders of humanistic psychology, Abraham Maslow. Peak Experiences are aspirational stories about natural highs (Paul Kaihla on the shaman origins of the sauna), breakthroughs (Rick Leed on becoming a foster parent), and inspirational insights (psychotherapist David Rickey on his Aha! Moment that took a lifetime).

2. SURVIVAL GUIDES

Click through our illustrated mini-series. Our subjects range from addiction to Ashtanga Yoga.

Look under “Slideshows” on the right side of the site. Our favorites include The New Female Mystics and Tom Hudgen’s first-person story about traveling to a Texas super-max prison to forgive the man who raped and murdered his sister when Tom was a child.

Our newest series: 5 Mind-Body Workouts that are about to Break out.

3. READ SUPER-STARS OF PSYCHOLOGY and SELF-HELP

More than 100 authors, practitioners and other experts in the ‘helping professions’ have contributed to Soul’s Code, including some of today’s leading spiritual teachers.

Examples: David Richo, an author of 14 books who headlines events at California’s world-renowned Spirit Rock Meditation Center and the Esalen Institute; Pamela Wilson, one of America’s new female mystics; Tony Samara, a leading spiritual teacher in Europe; and Michelle Ritterman, an author and psychotherapist who was a protege of Milton Erickson, the founder of modern medical hypnosis.

5. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF . . .

What would Carl Jung have blogged, if electronic journalling had been around in 1900, when the co-founder of modern psychology was 25? Or, say, if Rumi, the mystical poet of the Sufis had done social media?

Each month we feature a mystic for all time in A Day in the Life of…

6. LOVE SCROLL

What is the most loving thing someone has ever said to you?

That question has informed our innate way of feeling good for centuries — and not surprisingly, the whole religious experience. We humans are wired to experience the sacred as a group. Click the tile to share.

7. EXPRESS YOURSELF HERE

This is a community site. We don’t play favorites like Oprah. We are not a personality cult like Oprah.com

We are not creatures of any religious organization, or any particular technique. But we invite you to let it all hang out here:

What’s the best thing anybody has ever told you about yourself?

BY ANONYMOUS — I’ll start it off with a letter I got from my girlfriend today:

“Darling, I want to thank you for something: to thank you for being with me. Because if I would have never met you, I would never do a third of what I have done. You are my biggest inspiration and motivation. You are my star and I love you so much.”

Sometimes somebody tells you something like that and it fills you with joy. Those special words can turn your day or your life around. It can be the perfect antidote to the Pain Body Index, a mantra of worth and wellness. Try it out. Just typing it will make you feel better, guaranteed.
