Top 12 Transcendental Movies
We love using pop culture rankings and hierarchies to start conversations about everything from The Sopranos to the best resorts for blissing out and escaping the trappings of one’s own mind. Here’s our cinematic equivalent of transporting yourself out of mental noise — and into an expansive state.
Introducing the highly-experiential, officially-unscientific Soul's Code litany of the most transcendental movies in recent cinema history, starting with the Tom Hanks vehicle, Cast Away.
Almost all of the titles in this pantheon share a theme of personal transformation and identity-morphing redemption.

(If you need suggestions, Spiritual Cinema Circle probably has the biggest database of titles; Ya, it’s subscription but this Netflix for movies with psychological and mystical themes does offer a “free” trial.)

I can’t believe that you guys ranked Last Year at Marienbad so high, or have even heard of it. The first time I saw it I was in university, and it changed my life.
