Tech Support for domestic abuse
Abusive partners are turning to technology for new ways to torture and torment the other people in their relationships, reports MSNBC. Spyware, keystroke loggers and GPS tracking devices have become part of the abusers arsenal.
It’s a lucrative market fueled by the pain body, to borrow Eckhart Tolle’s poignant phrase for the basement of our psyches, despite its grey-hat status.
In one high-profile case, a software maker was indicted by federal authorities for marketing spouse-spying products, MSNBC reports. In August 2005, Carlos Enrique Perez-Melara was indicted in the Southern District of California for creating and selling a product called “Loverspy.” Four users of the product were also indited.
